” I always get to where I’m going by walking away from where I have been.”
― Winnie the Pooh, A.A. Milne

Hi, I’m Alfred,
Currently a second-year PhD. student at the University of Michigan, my research concentrates on Social Psychology. My research interests largely focus on the structure and functions of narratives and stories in various forms, such as life narratives, novels, movies, and mythical and religious stories. To be more specific, I examine how humans leverage stories to regulate emotions, simulate life experiences, and bond with others.
Deeply in love with the disciplines of Psychology, Sociology, and Philosophy, I intend to use this platform to record my insights and thoughts on topics that I find meaningful and worth pondering in our daily lives.
